1. Construction:
-
16 plait extended chain high
modulus polyethylene (HMPE)
core
-
8-24 plait 100% high
tenacity multi-filament
polyester cover
-
Special formula core coating
on sizes 8mm (5/16") and
upwards.
2. Characteristics and
Advantages:
-
HMPE core provides high
strength with minimum
stretch and weight. (Weight
for weight HMPE is 10 times
stronger than steel).
-
Core coating provides
adhesion between core and
cover braids to prevent
cover bunching at high load
point loadings and
protection to the core if
the cover is removed for
special applications.
-
Polyester cover provides
maximum abrasion resistance,
ease of handling and line
identification (black marker
fleck identifies Super
Braid).
-
Withstands shock loadings
and accepts tight radius and
knots better than aramids.
-
Can be used on standard
sheaves.
-
Highly resistant to
chemicals, internal abrasion
and ultra violet light.
-
Easy to splice because Super
Braid does not require the
removal of an inner sheath.
-
Suitable for all running
rigging.
-
High performance, cost
effective replacement for
wire halyards.
3. Storage:
Kinnears Super Braid should be
stored in a cool, well
ventilated
dry store and never in closed containers.
Kinnears Super Braid should be stacked on wooden grading or
racks, or
special pegs on stands. The cord should not be exposed to
weather or
direct sunlight. Ensure Super Braid is stored away from heavy
objects,
which may fall and damage the rope, chemicals or other
liquids, which may
leak and sources of sparks.
Super Braid should not be stored under conditions of high
heat or
excessively drying atmospheres.
Super Braid should never be dried in front of a fire or store
near a stove or
other source of heat.
